How To Clean Ice Off Car Windows

To clean ice off your car using a vinegar and water solution, you can follow these steps:

  1. Mix the Solution: Combine 2/3 vinegar and 1/3 water in spray bottle.
  2. Spray before ice forms(preventative): If you’re preparing in advance for icy conditions, spray this mixture on your car’s windows and windshield at night. This will help prevent ice from forming.
  3. Spray on Existing Ice: If ice has already formed on your car, spray this mixture liberally over icy surfaces. Allow to sit for few minutes. The vinegar will lower the freezing point of the water, helping to melt the ice and making it easier to remove.
  4. Scrape After Spraying: After allowing to sit, use ice scraper to remove ice.
  5. Wipe Down: After you’ve removed ice, it might be a good idea to wipe down the glass surfaces with a clean, dry microfiber rag to remove any vinegar residue.
